WIND DATA
Wind statistics by meteorological stations
- made by weather services mostly with WAsP method and data of the weather station
- JH Wind also manages these data with WAsP in most cases
- precondiction are suitable comparing plants to verify the calculated yields
- usage at estimations of yields and in wind potential studies
- it is often recommended to make measurements at the proposed sites, especially in complex areas
Anemometer measurements
- measurements by anemometers are a reliable source for data
- sufficient heights over ground are necessary
- JH Wind works together with companies building measurement poles
- is useful to find a fitting solution for your site
- evaluation of data is made by JH Wind
Lidar measurements
- Lidar (Light Detection And Ranging)
- measurements in the whole rotor disc can be made through possible heights up to 250m
- laser rays are sent and reflected by aerosols
- wind speeds and wind directions can be calculated out of transit times
- Lidar plants are installed in few hours
- a flexible use at different sites of the park are possible
- Lidar data are evaluated by JH Wind
- JH Wind has invite offers so customers can rent plants for their projects.
Data for reanalysis
- application in long-term correlation
- time series of wind speed and direction
- calculated out of meteorological models
- data input out of several sources
- measurements at planned site or nearby measurement stations cannot replaced by data for reanalysis
- but they are suitable for showing the fluctuation of the wind regime over time
- short-term measurements can be corrected for long-term
- JH Wind does the necessary test of the data for reanalysis concerning their suitability for the proposed site
- chooses the most suitable data base out of several
Wind indices
- fluctuations of wind appearance over time will be shown by means of yield data of existing WET
- there are wind indices, which are made with WET of specific regions
- JH Wind uses yield data of existing WET and builds regional wind indices if a sufficient data base is available
- it is possible to calculate yield fluctuations in a calculation model by using data for reanalysis
- to create a fitting site specific wind index
